This is News? I Don’t Get It…
OK, I confess, I had no idea whether or not they were already married, which shows you the level of interest I have in this happening:
Holmes, Cruise Ready for Star-Studded Italian Wedding
But you know, they’ve already had a kid, right? I’m sorry, but what’s the big deal about a wedding then? And why would anyone possibly care?

This phrase comes from the 1978 "Jonestown massacre" in which most members of the Peoples Temple cult, blindly following their leader Jim Jones, committed suicide by drinking cyanide-laced Kool-Aid.

But I’ve cancelled all appointments and decided to plagiarize my sermon this week just so that I could catch the TomKat wedding today!
…not really.

A TV show called “The Office” (American version( was making fun of people like that.
Jim: So how are things going with you?
Kelly: Well Katie and Tom had a baby and they named her Suri, and she’s soooo cute. and they are getting marride next week, and I’m super excited.
Jim: Right…. So how are things going with you?
Kelly: ……. I just told you.

Their baby girl was born the same day as my baby girl was. Their wedding was almost eight years and four months after ours was. You want news? What is newsworthy is that no one seems to care that he is almost twice her age, on his third marriage, or that she still felt fine wearing white despite the obvious. I would have loved to see people get all over them for this stuff. Sadly we don’t care that much anymore.

The cult of the individual means, in part, that nobody ought to suggest to anybody else how they might live their lives or conduct their affairs.
